What is Powershell
Scenario A system administrator will utilise PowerShell to streamline and automate the deployment and configuration of servers through the likes of PowerShell scripts. The administrator provisions new servers, installs required software, enforces security policies, manages patches, implements backup and recovery processes, and more. PowerShell enhances efficiency, ensure consistent server management, and can allow for ease of management. What is PowerShell? PowerShell is an open-source, command-line interface (CLI) based tool that allows developers, IT admins, and DevOps professionals to automate tasks and configurations using code. PowerShell is a bifunctional attribute built on Microsoft .NET technology. PowerShell can be used as an open-source shell or as a scripting language. PowerShell is used as a shell to control the computer with commands from a command-line interface related to the operating system. The command-line interface is another interrelation preference aside from the graphic user interface (GUI), which is used to convey commands from a user to an operating system. How will we be using it in the course? PowerShell is great for system administrators, thanks to its versatility, however, it can be used by attackers to help enumerate and take advantage over multiple areas. In this course we will show you how to use PowerShell to achieve: - Basic Usage - Enumerating Network Connections - Enumerating Windows Services - Creating Local User Accounts - Retrieving File & User Permissions - Raising Privileges
